The beauties of Dishonored

Dishonored was released in October 2012. It was developed through Arkane Studios and published through Bethesda. The game takes an average of 13 hours to finish by just playing casually to finish the game at 100% it takes roughly 33 hours.

Dishonored takes place in the plague ridden, industrial city of Dunwall between the late 1800's and early 1900's. You play as the main protagonist Corvo Attano an assassin who has been framed for killing the Empress. The whole game is based on you getting revenge on the people who murdered her while you try to find her daughter Emily.

The game is rather simple and easy to play, the graphics in the game are rather particular and cannot be linked to any other games you have played. The game is a one in a million and believe me it is the type of game that you will never forget after you have finished it. The campaign is well structured and comes with 4 different DLCs, the Void Walker's Arsenal (which comes with 4 different packs) the Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore

Witches. Each of the DLCs take around 5 hours to finish.
Another feature that makes Dishonored even better is that it comes with 2 alternate endings, the high chaos ending where you basically kill everyone and the low chaos ending where you spare the lives of almost everyone around you, however you CAN complete the game without killing anyone.

I personally think that everyone should play this game, it is literally one of the best!

Best Torrent Program! Free, Fast and Easy - Transmission!

I think we can all agree that some times we like to "borrow" some movies or games from... suspicious sites... or maybe you are downloading from a mirror server and prefer to torrent it. Well, in any case, which program do you use?

You could always go for BitTorrent or µTorrent, but at some points they can be annoying and heavy on your PC. I'd always prefer the more lightweight alternative when it comes to software. Most people use Windows PC's and the last thing you want is some random software slowing down your computer even more than Windows is doing anyways... Thats why I use Transmission. Very light and easy to use, and also has a lot of options and properties. Give it a try, you'll love it.
Screenshot from official Transmission Site

Best part is that you an use it on Mac and it is the default torrenting program on most Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint. Considering how Ubuntu's requirements include only 512 Mb of RAM, you can see why they chose Transmission as the default torrenting software. So, if you want to torrent files but you want a fast PC, use Transmission and use that extra bit of RAM and hard drive space for other things!

Some of the features include setting the limit of your Download or Upload, controlling how many and what peers to download from and much more. For a full list check this out! Torrenting can be EASY, FAST and FREE!

Will Your PC Run Battlefield 1? Probably YES!

Alright, we all know Battlefield 1 is gonna be amazing! But the question is... is your PC going to melt? The answer might really just be a simple "no"... well, probably not. Continue reading to find out how a mid-range PC is going to run EA's newest release, Battlefield 1.

First of all, lets take a look at the one of the most demanding games EA has produced, Star Wars Battlefront! If you love Star Wars and enjoy shooters, you definitely want to play that game, trust me it is action-packed and visually stunning. Ok, so you go to the website, or Origin, and you look at the system requirements... and oh my. You close the page, shut down your computer and go cry in the corner. The requirements of the game state that you NEED to have at least a GTX 970 and 16 Gb of RAM. You could never play that with your low-end system.
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/star-wars-battlefront-2015-alpha/12732

Reality is though, that I run the game on a solid 58 fps with a GTX 960. All the settings are set to Ultra, with High FXAA. Apparently, EA only accept fps over 100 as recommended,  while in reality 60 is a perfectly playable frame rate, for all settings set to Ultra.
How does this lead to our main topic, Battlefield 1? Well, considering a GTX 960, which is old now (read about the GTX 1060 here) can run Battlefront on 60 fps on Ultra, I can easily imagine it being able to play Battlefield One on 45 on Ultra or 60 on High. Of course, you can turn down the Anti-Aliasing, which is maybe the most demanding, and you can have a very enjoyable experience with the new game!

Older cards can do the same! If you are not extremely concerned about playing everything on Ultra, your GTX 750 Ti can also play this game, since I've played Battlefield 4 on solid 60 with High/Ultra settings!

Pros and Cons of a Gaming Laptop

There are many different opinions about gaming laptops floating all over the internet, however I am a proud owner of a msi GT70 2OC gaming laptip. I've had my laptop for a few years now and it has given me nothing but joy. Even though there are many different types of gaming laptops ill just stick to the main idea about the pros and cons of gaming laptops versus a desktop.

The pros :

  • Easy to transport (lans etc.)
  • Good gaming experience
  • Can connect multiple monitors (in some cases)
  • Doesn't require lots of space
  • Can double for a work computer (going back to being portable)
  • Almost as powerful as a desktop

The cons
  • Relatively expensive (depending on which company and specs)
  • Not always fully up-gradable
  • Cleaning and servicing can be a pain in the butt
  • Smaller monitor
  • Doesn't reach the same benchmarks as a desktop

As a proud owner of a gaming laptop there are a lot of cons to them, but if you are someone who does casual gaming and isn't aiming to go pro, I think gaming laptops are a good buy. If you are someone who does enjoy gaming and end up getting stuck with a work life it can still assist you with working. Unlike a normal laptop you can switch up the things you use it for i.e. gaming or work.

From personal experience, the only issues I am currently having with my laptop is that I cannot fully upgrade it, however I have had this laptop for around 5 years now and it has handled most of the games relatively well. When it comes to very demanding games, I run the graphics between medium and high and get around 45-50 FPS and others 50-60 FPS.

All in all I think gaming laptops are a great idea if you are not entirely committed to gaming and just want to do it for the fun of it.

If you do own a gaming laptop already please share your experiences in the comments.

Gaming on a Workstation PC? Why not?

About an year ago I bought a second hand Dell Precision t5500 Workstation. I managed to buy it at a very good price and it's specs are very good, compared to PC's that I could have built or bought for the same price.

Dell T5500

I was largely concerned about the performance of my new workstation when it came to gaming. It came with a Nvidia Quadro 4000, 2Gb DDR5. Not the best card for the newest titles. Of course, you could play CS:GO on 150fps on 1080p, and other games such as LoL, WoW, Dota 2, 0AD were definitely not a problem. However, games like Battlefield 4 (Even Battlefield 3), Far Cry 4/3, GTA 5 were only playable at a solid 40 on low. Not ideal for a gamer.

It was this spring that I decided on upgrading my video card, since it was the only factor, holding back my workstation PC from being a beast. I must admit that I was really concerned about upgrading parts in a workstation. Is the power supply good enough? Will the PCI-E x16 2.0 slow it down? Will the motherboard support it? Will I open a whole in the universe and suck in the whole world? No, actually I just plugged in the new card, booted up and there it was - my own gaming pc. However, I decided on temporarily upgrading it to a mid-range Nvidia GTX 960. When the RX 480 and the GTX 10 series becomes available, I will upgrade again, for ultimate performance.
But is an upgrade needed so soon? Right now I can play any game without any problems with my FPS. Most are on ultra settings, some I have to put to high or a mix between high and medium. Only thing that seems to choke the GTX 960 is the anti-aliasing. I must also say that the 960 is pretty good for video editing, too. I benchmarked it with cinebench and the results are amazing!

Bottom line is, there is nothing standing in your way if you want to upgrade your workstation PC. Just check if the power supply you have is strong enough and if not, upgrade it, too. I can't speak for all workstations, but most are fully upgradable. Mine has the option to even add another processor and I can upgrade RAM to 32 Gb, but, of course, both of those are not needed when it comes to gaming. I am happy to say that my build is good for both gaming and rendering, something not many gaming-only PC owners can brag about!

The Lastest of the GTX 10 Series

As we all know the most anticipated GeForce GTX 10 series has made its first debut on May 27, 2016 with the GTX 1080. The GTX 10 series as been super important for modern PC gamers, they are the perfect mix of high performance, affordability and look absolutely STUNNING.

To learn more about the GTX 1080 click here and here for the GTX 1070.

Okay, now to get to what this post is really about, which is the latest GTX release, the GTX 1060. It has been available for purchase as of the 19th of July, 2016. The 1060 is like the big brother of the GTX 960, however the performance of the 1060 is almost double compared to the 960.

One of the differences between the 960 and the 1080 is that the 1080 has an entirely new architecture. the Nvidia Pascal is the latest and greatest in the world of GPUs, the performance of Pascal is roughly 10X that of the Maxwell, which supports the 960. It is one of the best architectures in the world up until now! Pascal supports virtual reality headsets and provides smooth game play.

The GTX 1060 Founders Edition looks pretty similar to the 1080 and 1070 considering the shield and single fan. The great thing about the 1060 is that it has low power requirements, it only needs 120 Watts, and for those of you who don't know a great deal about graphics cards, that is incredibly low and it leads to better performance for your PC because there is not a lot of strain on the power supply. The 1060 is an entry level graphics card, however compared to the 960 which only 1024 CUDA Cores the 1060 has 1280 CUDA Cores, which drastically improves the performance. For those of you who enjoy overclocking, the 1060 can easily make 1.7 MHz.

Here are all the specs for the GTX 1060

To conclude all of this, the GTX 1060 is definitely a good buy if you are looking for a fair priced GPU with high performance for its range. It is not yet released world wide but it will make its way to your local computer hardware store.

If you do already own a GTX 1060 please leave some feedback down in the comments.

How to make passive income from gaming and G2A Goldmine?

For those who just love playing games and sharing them with your friends, you probably want to make some kind of profit from that, right? Well, there happens to be a site, g2a.com, which offers just that. I've made 70 USD from it without almost any promotion, so imagine what YOU could do! Before I continue, just bear in mind that I will be talking about g2a's referral system, not the marketplace. For more info on how to sell and buy games in the marketplace, check out this.

If you prefer to watch the video tutorial on this article click here.

The referral system that g2a has allows you to share games and items (CS:GO skins, Dota 2 items) with your friends and others interested in them and make profit out of them. It is called g2a goldmine and I have made a total of 70 USD with only around 2400 reffered people.
My profit for now! (I use the money on a daily basis, so my available balance is low)
Imagine the numbers with tens of thousands of reffed people, which, is nowhere close to impossible with social media!  Read on to find out how. There are 3 levels of referral.

> First level - You send your ref link to somebody. He opens it and whenever he makes a purchase from g2a.com, you get some money (not much, but everything depends on the purchase).

> Second level - The person who opened your ref link also has a g2a goldmine account with his own refs. Every time he OR the people HE referred make a purchase, you get some money, too.

> Third level - Basically the same concept as level 2. It is like a pyramid, but the furthest away the purchase is from your own ref link, the less money you get.

Lets talk about the ref links now. You can create as many as you want. Lets say there is a promotion on the site. You link your ref link and call it something like, for example:
Some of my ref links!
As you can see, some links are more successful than others. These aren't all of mine, but there is an obvious interest towards "gta-givaway-4f". People love givaways! Make sure you use this as your advantage. Also, you are helping those people out, for example some of my links lead to % promotions, that you can get only from my refs!

But how do I cash out my profit? Well, the good thing about G2A Goldmine is that you can use your profit to cash out to PayPal or credit card directly (You can only cash out profit that is more than 10 Eur/USD) or you can use the profit in the g2a marketplace directly. One big use of your money would be using it in csgolounge.com! You can make donations for your own bot, more trade spaces, etc. by using your g2a goldmine profit! Sounds too good to be true? Well its not, I have made profit using it and I buy games from the g2a marketplace using my profit on a daily basis!
